SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
 

As the Senior Accountant, you are a key contributor in ensuring our Company’s financial statements are prepared accurately, timely and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Ideally, you are within a commutable distance to our Carlsbad, corporate office and able to work a hybrid schedule or remotely.

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports and statements.
  • Prepares journal entries and monthly account reconciliations for a variety of general ledger accounts (both balance sheets and income statement).
  • Supports Controller and Accounting Manager with monthly general ledger accounts analysis.
  • Analyzes financial information applying accounting principles and procedures.
  • Participates in documentation and monitoring of internal controls.
  • Prepare documentation for External Auditors and assists the Accounting Manager with all other areas.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement to maximize utilization of accounting software.
  • Enters and coordinates Management approval for AP vouchers and check runs.
  • Banking and Purchasing Card Program Administration.
  • Performs internal audits of our franchisee’s Monthly Income Reporting. Reviews, compares, and reports any discrepancy to the Accounting Manager.
  • Books payroll entries and accruals each month.
  • Performs other job duties and responsibilities as may be assigned for the successful operation of the department.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 4+ years of professional and progressive accounting experience using an automated accounting system
  • Working knowledge of a mid-level Accounting software package
  • Demonstrated knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
  • Thorough understanding of full accounting cycle including reporting
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Ability to act as a self-starter, demonstrate initiative, and take on new duties as needed
  • Ability to work as a proactive, cooperative and respectful team member
 
AGILE PROJECT MANAGER in IT
 

As the Agile Project Manager, you will work with our cross-functional team and manage the development of Jazzercise’s Enterprise Systems. These systems comprise of core business management functions: franchises, classes, facilities, customers, memberships, billing, reporting, and training. You will also help manage cross-departmental projects and tasks which require support by the IT department.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day activities of the team including creating, prioritizing, and managing backlogs of work.
  • Facilitate agile practices such as Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, and Retrospectives.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to define project scope and objectives, create, and maintain project plans with resource estimations and deadlines.
  • Create and manage project documentation, including the original plan, any working papers, status reports, meeting minutes, issue logs, and any other documentation related to the management and administration of the project.
  • Report schedule, budget, and delivery details to stakeholders.
  • Identify and rectify potential issues with scope and resource changes.
  • Perform other duties assigned as business needs change.
 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in agile project management
  • Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques
  • Must have experience with the following platforms: JIRA and Confluence, Monday.com (not required, but a plus)
  • Experience with development life-cycle process and best practices
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, problem solve, and take ownership of work
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Strong work ethic and initiative with a positive attitude
 
SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER in IT
 

As the lead software engineer, you will help establish development standards and drive overall technical architecture for Jazzercise’s Enterprise Systems. These systems comprise of core business management functions: franchises, classes, facilities, customers, memberships, billing, reporting, and training. You will build high quality and architectural sound systems that align with our business processes and goals. You will be hands on, lead, and contribute to multiple simultaneous development efforts. The ideal candidate is a visionary, thinks globally, strives for simplicity, creative, and has sound judgement.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish development standards and best practices
  • Work with colleagues to implement technical designs
  • Enhance applications by identifying opportunities for improvement, pinpoint and resolve issues.
  • Develop and maintain existing and new features and functions for the entire Jazzercise Enterprise Systems.
  • Perform other duties assigned as business needs change
 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in software engineering
  • Must have experience with the following: Rails, React, Bootstrap, SQL
  • Must have experience with the following platforms: Stripe, Continuous Integration, Github, JIRA and Confluence, Selenium
  • Experience leading development life-cycle process and best practices
  • Experience with Agile, Service Oriented Architecture, micro-services, containerization, distributed systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, problem solve and take ownership of work
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Strong work ethic and initiative with a positive attitude
