3 Ways to Celebrate Women's History Month

Hunkering down at home makes this the perfect time to shine the spotlight on awesome women of all kinds during Women’s History Month—the women in our day-to-day lives, strong women we’ve never met, and the next generation who will grow up to change the world.

Celebrate Women’s Voices
Now is the perfect time to cozy up and dive into some of our favorite works by women:
Read: I know Why the Caged Bird Sings, by Maya Angelou
Watch: Miss Representation, directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom
Listen: Cuz I Love You, album by Lizzo
Read: Girl Wash Your Face, by Rachel Hollis
Watch: The Mindy Project, created by Mindy Kaling
Listen: Lemonade, album by Beyoncé

Say Thank You
Whether it’s your mom, a friend or someone you’ve only seen on TV—there are so many inspirational women in our lives who deserve an extra special thank you. Print these downloadable women’s month greeting cards and pay it forward to someone who’s earned it. Plus, it’s a great way to stay connected to those we love, even when we can’t be with them in person.

Be the Change
It might be out of habit...or because we never quite stopped to think about it, but we can sometimes say things that we don’t really mean. Let’s all do the next generation of women a solid, and rethink the way we talk about strong women.

Say “She has leadership skills,” NOT “She is bossy”

Say “You look so strong,” NOT “You look so skinny”

Say “She is ambitious,” NOT “She is too aggressive”

Say “You are beautiful,” NOT “Did you lose weight?”

Say “She is someone,” NOT “She is someone’s daughter/sister/wife”

“Each time a woman stands up for herself, she stands up for all women.” - Maya Angelou
