JAZZERCISE FOUNDER HONORED FOR COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTIONS AND BUSINESS EXCELLENCE
- San Diego Business Journal Recognizes Missett at Award Ceremonies -

CARLSBAD, Calif. (Oct. 14, 2005) — Jazzercise founder and CEO, Judi Sheppard Missett, was recently honored as one of 25 recipients of the 12th Annual "Women Who Mean Business" (WWMB) Award for outstanding achievements and contributions to San Diego by the San Diego Business Journal. Selected from a distinguished group of more than 125 nominees at a special awards ceremony October 6 in San Diego, California, Missett was recognized as an inspiring and progressive role model and business leader. In addition to notable accomplishments in growing her multi-million dollar international fitness franchise business, Missett's numerous efforts to give back to the community were highlighted, including fundraisers; developing a community service program to promote fitness for children; and involvement in industry and community associations.

The WWMB honor follows closely on the heels of another presented by the Journal, which recognized Jazzercise as #4 on its list of "Top 50 Women Owned Businesses in San Diego" at the Women's Entrepreneurial Awards 2005. Ranked according to 2004 gross revenue, Jazzercise's 2004 gross revenue totaled $70 million, a 4% increase over the previous year. The total combined 2004 gross revenue of all 50 companies totaled in excess of $662.12 million. The firms represent San Diego's diverse economy of high-tech firms, healthcare organizations, developers, staffing agencies, and marketing firms and collectively employ more than 7,600 people in San Diego and nationwide.

"It's a great honor to be recognized for achievements and contributions to the San Diego business community," says Missett, "and also for Jazzercise to rank so highly among the city's women-owned businesses."
