Jazzercise's Best Year Culminates in Las Vegas
Jazzerjam 2003 Marks First Sellout in Event's History CARLSBAD, Calif. (July 3, 2003) - More than 4,000 Jazzercise enthusiasts from 13 countries worldwide will gather in Las Vegas for Jazzerjam 2003, a three-day fitness convention filled with enormous classes, fitness seminars and daily performances. The quadrennial conference, held at the Las Vegas Convention Center July 24-27, marks the first sellout in the history of the event, and will feature more than 70 unique workout sessions.
The 2003 Jazzerjam sellout reflects the company's burgeoning growth in recent years. Systemwide sales for the privately-held company are now on pace to exceed the 2002 sales record of $62 million following the release of two new fitness DVDs and steady growth in class participation worldwide.
Jazzercise Founder and CEO Judi Sheppard Missett views Jazzerjam as evidence of just how far her company has come since launching Jazzercise in a Chicago dance studio in 1969.
"The enthusiasm our participants bring to these events serves as the best testament to our continued success throughout the past three decades," Missett says. "When I see classes fill a convention center with wall-to-wall attendees, I think of how much Jazzercise has grown since my very first class. These events provide a chance for us to get together, learn from one another, and really capture the spirit behind our program."
In addition to offering 78 workouts ranging from kickboxing and yoga to funk- and stretch-based routines, Jazzerjam will feature seminars led by doctors and specialists who will explore topics such as personal accountability and living longer. A shopping expo and entertainment, including performances by international dancers, acrobats and magicians, will round out the event. The busy schedule traditionally draws participants from around the globe, and will this year include Jazzercisers from as far away as Australia, Italy, Switzerland and Japan.
Classes will begin July 24 and continue for three days. A finale class, led by
Missett, will top off the three-day convention, and will gather all participants
for one giant Jazzercise class.
