Jazzercise News Releases
Hip Hop and Hand Weights Pump Up Jazzercise DVD Line
Two New DVDs Revive Workouts for the New Year CARLSBAD, Calif. (December 15, 2003) – Both fitness buffs and beginners looking to develop their six-packs or dance moves in 2004 will have two new Jazzercise DVDs to pep up at-home workouts. “Street Jazz!” featuring the latest funk- and hip-hop-based dance moves, and “Body Sculpt & Strength,” a muscle-toning workout with weights and tubes, are now available.
The two new titles follow the successful launch earlier this year of “Pure Jazzercise” and “Stretch By Jazzercise,” the company’s first fitness DVDs and titles since 1995. Jazzercise first hit its stride in the home fitness market in 1981 with the release of gold-album “Jazzercise” on MCA Records and Tapes, and followed that success with “Let’s Jazzercise” and “Jazzercise – Looking Good.” The growing library anchored founder Judi Sheppard Missett as a household fitness name and helped launch a collection of 22 home video and audio recordings. Today, demand for Jazzercise continues, with the company posting record revenues in 2003, and sales of the first DVD titles well exceeding set goals.
Missett, who leads the “Body Sculpt & Strength” workout, says the new titles nicely complement those released earlier this year to create a well-rounded home workout system.
“Together, these four new DVDs offer a great variety to help keep people energized and excited about their workouts.” Missett says. “There has been growing demand among our participants in recent years to provide updated videos to challenge them outside of their Jazzercise classes, and with this new array from classic Jazzercise to stretch to hip-hop to strength, they can choose a different routine nearly every day of the week.”
“Street Jazz!” led by professional dancer and choreographer Tim Roberts and Jazzercise Executive Vice President Shanna Missett Nelson, and “Body Sculpt & Strength,” led by Missett, were filmed in Oceanside, Calif. by JM Digital Works. Both DVDs are available for less than $25 each on Jazzercise.com and in the Jazzertogs catalog, a Jazzercise publication of fitness fashion and workout gear.
