Costs of Doing Business


The initial franchise fee is $1000 in the United States and $500 in other countries.

Start-up expenses include:
• Travel and accommodation expenses while training in Carlsbad, CA

• A sound system including:
— CD player with wireless microphone attachment
— Mixer, power amplifier and at least two speakers

• A computer system including:
— PC and laser printer capable of running the JFAS software (Windows-based) program
— E-mail and internet access

• Telephone answering system

• Tenant improvements

• Stage or platform and lighting for stage
— Lighting for stage

Ongoing expenses (Estimated as percentage of Gross Sales) include:
• 20% continuing franchise fee (royalty) to Jazzercise, Inc.

• 25% for rent, utilities and facility maintenance expenses

Note: Leased facilities can range from an average small facility of 1200 square feet (25 customers per class) to an average large facility of 3000 square feet (75 customers per class).

• 20% for hiring Jazzercise-certified instructors to teach your classes

• 20% for other expenses (including advertising, promotions, music and music royalties, insurance and office supplies).
