Since May is all about moms, we’ve put together a list of fun and healthy activities the whole family can enjoy. We’ve also included some indulgent ways for mom to get some well-deserved “me” time. With these simple tips, you don’t have to wait until Mother’s Day to pamper yourself!
Healthy Family Fun
Swaddled in Solitude
-Quench spring fever by hiking in the mountains. Whether you are in hiking boots or snowshoes, it’s an adventure the entire family will enjoy. On the drive up, crank the music and sing! Pack a healthy lunch and have a picnic at the summit.
-If you live near the ocean, take the family to the beach. Explore the shore looking for seashells, jump the waves or take a relaxing walk on the beach.
-Take the dog on a family walk or go for a walk after dinner. It is always great to get outdoors and get active together.
-Go to the botanical gardens and smell the colorful flowers. Afterwards, visit a juice bar for healthy smoothies or treat the family to frozen yogurt.
-Moms and daughters can share quality time and get a manicure/pedicure while the rest of the family makes movie and dinner plans.
-Yin yoga offers deep relaxation while stretching tight joints and ligaments. Light some candles, pop in a DVD and enjoy the stress relief.
-Gardening offers a sort of meditation that allows you to soak up nature’s beauty while getting a little exercise.
-Get in your pajamas and watch a whole season of your favorite TV show. Take a nap or go to bed early.
-Have a mother/daughter spa day and treat yourselves to a facial or a relaxing massage.
-Hire someone to clean your home while you kick up your feet and read a book or your favorite magazine.
-Have dad watch the kids while you attend your favorite exercise class. Grab a coffee with girlfriends afterwards and don’t rush home.
Moms work hard all year. This is your day. Enjoy it!
