| I had the
best time yesterday in Baltimore! I raised $1,621.00
for Art & Soul charities. My inspiration to
participate is complicated. I love Jazzercise
and the people I've met…My friends have
been the best support in dealing with life’s
ups and downs. I wanted to give something back
because Jazzercise has helped me so much in dealing
with changes in my life.
My aunt died at 59 years
old of breast cancer, and I always wanted to do
an event for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer
Foundation. And I have successfully parented three
terrific kids (who all) survived adolescence by
participating in music and dance programs that
I had the resources to provide. I loved the idea
of contributing to arts programs for underprivileged
youth.
As for the money, I received
donations from 68 donors. Over the years I have
sponsored co-workers in (various charity events).
I have bought Girl Scout cookies and wrapping
paper from co-workers' children. So I sent an
e-mail to all of those people announcing my participation
in Art & Soul and saying "Now it is my
turn." It really worked - co-workers gave
me as little as $2.00 and as much as $50.00, even
giving up their lottery money. And (my company)
gave me a check for $300.00.
Art & Soul was an amazing
day - I feel energized and more excited than ever
about Jazzercise. Thank you!

My hero, my friend, passed
away in 2003 after a 7 year battle with breast
cancer. Her courage and positive attitude touched
my heart and soul. I dedicate the illuminating
experience in Baltimore to her beautiful spirit.
My motivation for raising
money for the Art & Soul Tour was the encouraging
and stimulating leadership of my team captain--Betty
Hobbs. She was an intoxicating and positive influence
and (I) believe in my heart we raised the amount
we did, due to her awesome leadership.
I am changed for life after
my participation in Baltimore's Art & Soul
Tour. I believe I have made a difference as well
as the 50+ supporters who pledged. Thank you.

I was diagnosed with breast
cancer almost 2 _ years ago. After my treatment
I as tired, out of shape and gaining weight. I
didn’t feel very good about myself. I decided
to return to Jazzercise after being away for a
few years. It became part of my recovery. I’m
feeling better every day.
The research on breast cancer
is doing tremendous things. Because of the progress
made in just the past ten years, I have a good
prognosis. I am very thankful for that. Also any
youth programs are so worthwhile. Two good causes.
It was an opportunity to
help as well as spend a fun afternoon.

My inspiration for participating
in the Art & Soul Tour was to contribute my
time and effort to raise money for a cure and
promote wellness. Cancer is no stranger to my
family. Being an avid Jazzerciser, a non-smoker,
an artist, and seeing those I love suffer with
cancer motivates me to be healthy and contribute
to health issues. I must admit that the motivation
really kicked in with my first donation of $100.
From that donation on, others wanted to match
that donation and before I knew it I had $750
in donations. It not only showed me the generous
side of people but confirmed that I have been
good to people and that in turn they will support
me when I do these types of events.
I encourage others to participate
in the Art & Soul Tour because it provides
you with a sense of wellness. Knowing you have
contributed to something worthwhile that benefits
you and others is gratifying. If you know you
are healthy and you want to promote health, completeing
the 3 hours of Jazzercise that day is assuring!
I’m glad to see Baltimore,
Washington, D.C., Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware,
and Pennsylvania stepped up to the plate and showed
love and support to these two very important and
worthwhile causes. God Bless All of You!
